How Do You Encourage Your Employees to Spend More Time Outdoors?

Austin, Texas: As the weather starts to turn cool (or cold..depending on where you live) — we will be spending more time indoors.

On those nice warmer days left this year, why not make a point to hold meetings outdoors?

Have lunches outside.

Schedule a day in a park for litter pickup.

Host a fun recreational event or picnic outdoors.

As a green organization, too much time spent indoors takes away from the goal of your mission statement.

Whether your goal is is to further environmental causes, encourage greater stewardship of the environment or to help others reduce their carbon footprint– not spending enough time enjoying nature can have an adverse effect on your employees.

How can your employees advocate for the environment when they are not enjoying nature all winter?

Go outside…and encourage others to do so.

Sweater and light jacket days are still perfect for appreciating the natural surroundings and getting some fresh air.

What are you going to do you encourage your employees to spend more of their workday outdoors?

Here’s to a greener tomorrow, today.
