4 Ways To Sustainably Market With Promotional Products

  • Aug 16, 2022

Branded merchandise helps your business/organization stand out in the crowd. As often as possible, though, you should make eco-friendly decisions when marketing.

Promotional gifts can be used in a variety of ways, such as being included in onboarding kits, mailed as client appreciation kits, and awarded to fans through giveaways. Many times, custom-printed gear is seen at industry events, as a way to attract attendees and tell them more about your products and services.

For instance, your trade show booth can be stocked full of thoughtful and useful freebies, all branded with your logo and all catching the eyes of those in attendance. You can use social media while at conferences to let followers know just what sort of imprinted goodies you have available. In return, these potential customers/consumers can supply you with their contact info, so you can then follow up with them, add them to your email marketing list, and keep them informed on your brand’s latest news.

Before all of that, though, you must choose and purchase the right pieces of swag, and when making these selections, there are a few important factors to keep in mind, including the environment. In order to make your promotional products as good for the earth as possible:

  1. You should not put the date on imprinted items. It is common to see dates posted on promo items, especially at larger and well-known events like South by Southwest (SXSW). However, we would recommend avoiding this, in order to stay relevant and help create longevity.
  2. You should opt for high-quality logo gifts. Obviously, the nicer something is, the longer it will last. Eco Marketing Solutions has stylish merchandise from popular brands, including EcoSmart t-shirts from Hanes, reusable water bottles from CamelBak, and bags from Miir, which gives revenue to nonprofit organizations that benefit the health of natural environments.
  3. You should upcycle marketing material when possible. Another way to promote a green lifestyle is by reusing and recycling as much as possible. This ranges from having a bin for recyclables in your office to using the same banners, tablecloths, and signs at your trade show booth each year.
  4. You should offer branded gear that people will actually want/use. Just as a quality product has a higher chance of being kept around, so does one that is genuinely useful. A couple of examples are cozy hoodies that can be worn while running errands, at the gym, or on the couch; stainless steel tumblers that can hold coffee in the morning and/or a cocktail in the evening; and cotton tote bags for carrying belongings to work, the grocery store, class, and beyond.

Showing off your brand in an exciting way is part of the process of spreading awareness and increasing traffic, and branded gifts are known to contribute to this success. While doing so, just remember to make as many eco-friendly choices as possible, promoting your company/association AND Mother Earth!
